Chalk Paint Mirror Frame

For this mirror frame i went with a lighter blue annie sloan chalk paint in duck egg.

You should apply two to three coats to the frame. Just go for it. The great thing about chalk paint is that there is no sanding or other prep work well minus taping off the mirror. Like i said i read online that we d be able to easily scrape off the chalk paint.
Scrape the paint off the mirror with a razor blade. You could use standard chalk paint and a brush but given how small a surface mirror frames usually are spray chalk paint works just as well and is much faster. It was pretty convenient that there was already a layer of blue paint on there. 30 minutes is the approximate time for each light coat to dry.
Tape off mirror with painter s tape for easier clean up in the end. I m not very handy with razor blades so i had my hubby scrape off the paint. Use french linen to apply a wash over the white coat. Chalk paint dries pretty fast.
Now you are ready to spray paint the mirror frame with the chalk paint. Pushing it into the curves and grooves gives it more of a softer coastal look. Once the chalk paint was dry i wiped on annie sloan s white wax with a lint free cloth. Use a round paint brush to get the best coverage over the frame.
The instructions just said to spray the mirror with window cleaner. Take your time while using the chalk paint to ensure that the frame is fully covered.
